Handgun Case

I'll say that the quality of these cases is very adequate, and for the purposes of some people they may very well work great. I'm just not one of those people.
As someone relatively new to shooting, I was looking for the most convenient way to transport my handguns to and from the range, basically. I also wanted a case oriented vertically, so that I could load them into a top-loading backpack with the pull handle facing up. (And it's weird, to me, that there are SO few such options!) The problem with this case, however, is that it's extremely thick, and yet still (somehow) doesn't comfortably accommodate a full sized pistol with 4 mags. At that capacity, the case is extremely overstuffed; it's hard to get it zipped shut, and it bulges in the middle quite significantly. It's bad enough that the cases don't stack well against one-another when they are at capacity.
What I've found to be a much better solution -- and I'm speaking only for my own way of doing things -- is to use simple padded sleeves for each gun, and separate magazine pouches. That way I have more flexibility in how I decide to organize things and the bulk factor is significantly less. Two pistols and associated mags take up far less space in my pack, using this method, and it's easier to keep things organized and at-hand, at the range.
Again: quality of the cases is just fine, and for the right gun and right application, they might be perfect for some.
